Immunisation & Vaccination

Immunisation is a safe and effective way to protect you and your children from harmful, contagious diseases. It also safeguards the health of other people, now and for future generations

As part of Parkwood Green Medical’s commitment to patient preventative care, we provide an immunisation service that includes childhood, travel, seasonal (flu) and employment vaccinations. Our Centre complies with Australian Standards and is fully accredited for the storage of immunisations and vaccinations.

Please contact us regarding specific immunisations available and ensure that you discuss this with the Nurse / Doctor when booking an appointment.

Minor Surgery

Our experienced medical practitioner provides minor surgical procedures, including skin biopsies, shave biopsies and excisions, to assist in the diagnosis and management of various skin conditions. Procedures are performed following an appropriate clinical assessment, with specimens sent for pathology when required. Our focus is on safe, quality care, early diagnosis and ensuring patients receive appropriate follow-up and treatment. A pre-consult would need to be booked with a general practitioner prior to the minor surgery. Please see reception for these bookings.

Wound Care & Dressings

Our medical practitioners and nursing team provide wound care and dressing services to support healing and recovery. This includes dressing changes, wound assessment and monitoring, and ongoing care for wounds following surgery, injury or other medical conditions. Our focus is on promoting healing, preventing infection and ensuring patients receive appropriate follow-up care.

Suture Removal

Our medical practitioners and nursing team provide suture removal services following surgery, minor procedures or injuries. We assess the wound to ensure it is healing appropriately and remove sutures at the recommended time, with advice on wound care and recovery where needed. Please contact reception to arrange an appointment and advise whether the sutures were placed at our clinic or another healthcare facility.

Skin Checks & Skin Assessments

Some of our medical practitioners provide comprehensive skin checks to assess moles, spots and other skin lesions for signs of skin cancer or other abnormalities. Regular skin checks can assist with the early detection of suspicious changes. Where necessary, further investigations, including biopsies or excisions, may be recommended. We encourage patients to seek an assessment for any new, changing or concerning skin lesions and discuss their individual skin cancer risk with their doctor. Furthermore, we also offer a trained General Practitioner who specialises in Skin Dermatology. Please see reception for these bookings.

Contraception, Mirena/Implanon & MTOP Services

Our medical practitioners provide a range of contraceptive and reproductive health services, including Mirena and Implanon insertion and removal, as well as Medical Termination of Pregnancy (MTOP) services. We offer individual consultations to discuss available options, answer questions and support patients in making informed decisions about their reproductive health. Please see reception for these bookings as some services are privately charged.

Iron Infusions

Our medical practitioners provide iron infusion services for patients who require iron replacement following a clinical assessment. Iron infusions can help restore iron levels and manage iron deficiency when oral iron supplements are unsuitable or ineffective. Patients are assessed prior to treatment, monitored during the procedure and provided with appropriate follow-up care to support their ongoing health and wellbeing. These are done and monitored under trained practice nurses and require a pre-consult with a general practitioner. Please speak to reception.

Work Cover & TAC Medical Services

Our selected General Practitioners provide medical consultations for patients with Work Cover and Transport Accident Commission (TAC) claims. Services may include assessment of work-related or transport accident injuries, treatment planning, medical certificates and ongoing care, where appropriate. Please note that these services are available with selected General Practitioners only. Patients are encouraged to contact reception to confirm availability, appointment requirements and any applicable fees before booking. Please contact reception to enquire which General Practitioner is available.

Commercial Driver /Taxi/Uber Medical Assessments

Our medical practitioners provide medical assessments for commercial drivers to help determine their fitness to drive in accordance with relevant licensing requirements. These assessments may include a review of medical history, vision and other relevant health checks, depending on the driver’s circumstances and licensing category. We aim to provide thorough, professional assessments and complete the required medical documentation to support drivers in meeting their commercial licensing obligations. Please contact reception to enquire about fees and book an appointment.
